Pepper Plantation is an equestrian-themed private community in Awendaw, SC near the Wando River. The community offers horse-friendly amenities such as a 1/4 mile race track, 4 stall barn, lunging ring, and 6 miles of riding trails winding through over 150 acres of community property. Directions to Pepper Plantation: From Mount Pleasant Town Center - 7 miles north on US-17, Left on Chandler Road and go 0.4 miles, entrance is on the left. Pepper Plantation is just a few miles from the new Wando High School.

Paradise Island Public Boat Landing offers access to the Wando River in Awendaw, SC.

It is located at the end of Chandler Road off of Highway 17 just north of Mount Pleasant.

The name is a misleading, the landing is on the opposite side of the river from Paradise Island.

There is ample parking for trucks and boat trailers.

Bulls Bay Overlook is a private waterfront community in Awendaw, SC. As the name implies, the community is located on the Intracoastal Waterway and overlooks Bulls Bay, a portion of the pristine Cape Romain Wildlife Refuge. This is a small community by most standards with about 41 building lots (averaging 1.3 acres) and only 16 homes (averaging 3217 sq.ft.). Bulls Bay Overlook also has a wonderful private dock and landing facility so all community members can enjoy the breathtaking views and launch their boats for a great fishing trip or cruise up the ICW.

For the bare bones analytical side of us or people who are new to the area, here is a chart for the various Awendaw neighborhoods (though you’ll see that not all are technically within Awendaw’s town limits) and a few basic facts about them.
